Hello! Hello! Are you ready for another helpful weekly real estate post? Great! Today’s video and blog post is going to be about questions home buyers or sellers should ask a real estate agent before they hire him or her. Let’s get right to it, shall we?

The real estate transaction process is something that most people only do a handful of times throughout their life. Therefore, it is extremely important to make sure the real estate agent representing you is looking out for your best interests.

For starters, ask them how many transactions they have done in the last twelve months. It will help you gauge that realtor’s activity in the market and how successful they are at it.  It also shows the level of experience he or she has. Depending on what you’re looking for, the answer to this question will help you decide if this person is the correct person to represent you.

The second question goes along with the first. Ask them if this is a full-time or part-time job. You want to know because it can affect availability and you might have one or the other that suits your needs better. At the Clayton Collins Team, this is our full-time job. We believe this is important because we’re 100% focused on the client’s real estate needs.

Next, you might want to find out how the realtor can help you with community involvement. Ask if the realtor can give you a list of resources so that you can get better assimilated into the community and have a better experience with the transaction. This might include resources such as a home inspector, handyman, events, restaurants, that sort of thing. Your real estate agent can serve as your guide to the community if he or she is familiar with it. We believe having a real estate agent that knows the community takes your home buying or selling experience to the next level.

You also might want to find out if he or she has worked in this area before. This will help you discover if they may know some extra information on that area that will be useful to you. This goes along with the list of resources question. Having an agent that knows the area well will be more beneficial to you.

Our final question will help you stay up to date on changes in the market. Ask the realtor if he or she can provide you with current market updates so that you can get better educated on what you are about to experience. At the Clayton Collins Team we are constantly keeping up to date on the market because we are the real estate expert.

Use these five questions so that you have a better buying or selling experience. Are you looking to buy or sell a home? Are you in search for the perfect real estate agent? Look no further!
